It's official. I now have a blog! Ahhhh! I am so excited to share my art with you all. I aim to show you the long but exciting process it takes to create a piece of art. That could mean anything from my inspiration, photo references, sketches (please don't judge how messy my sketches are), and the final piece. A finished piece doesn't just happen overnight, although that would be wonderful if that were the case. So raise your glass, or diet coke in my case, and let's toast to trying to find models, photoshopping compositions, and spending hours upon hours painting.
On that note, I want to share with you a piece I've been working on. Once I add a few more details and get my teacher's approval I can call it finished. Our assignment was to illustrate a song. Being a huge Arcade Fire fan, I knew right off the bat which song I wanted to choose: The Suburbs. I choose to illustrate this song in a slightly violent manner (God bless my roommates for not questioning why they had to pretend they were getting shot).
Monday I will start this same picture again but in oils. Hopefully it'll turn out as well as my graphite drawing did. I'll have the official finished graphite piece up in my portfolio in a few days.
